Ran across this photo on pinterest. There was no accompanying information about the pen. Surely someone here is familiar with it. In addition to the decoration, it has a beautiful 14C nib.

No doubt, but it would be interesting to know more about it.

Search on Wasp Nest and see if anything shows up.  Looks more wasp than dragonfly.

I just did a google image search and there were about 3 pages of results. Unfortunately, each link tracked back to the Pinterest page that originally posted the image.  I'm not a member there so I couldn't "view more" (which, hopefully, would have led to the original poster, or some information about the image itself).. but perhaps a member of Pinterest could give this a try and see what turns up?

Hi James,

This looks to be one of the artist proofs for Classic Pens LS7 series.

I think the artist did similar designs on MB and Sailor KOP pens before settling on the the Parker Duofold.

More info here - http://classicpensinc.com/LS/LS7.htm

Very difficult to get hold of these days and as you can imagine, not inexpensive.

Cheers

Yes, I remember now.

I saw this pen and hold it in my hands in 2002. It is a prototype for the mentioned LS7 from Classic Pens. Andy Lambrou wanted to sell this 1 of 1 pen as Montblanc refused to give their permission for this Classic-Pen-Edition.

Roger Cromwell had two of those 149s which he called "Honey Bee" pens at the second Baltimore Pen Show several years. I was fortunate enough to hold and examine both. Truly stunning!  Andy Lambrou's designs, prototypes, and finished products are among the most beautiful fountain pens available anywhere.

I can't imagine what these would have sold for had they been publicly marketed. Lambrou's similar pens have a hefty premium and those are based on more modest pens. This is pretty special.

The asking price of the pen from Roger Crowell was $6500 when it sold a few years ago.
