Montblanc Pink

Recommended Posts

I finally got some cartridges from a Montblanc boutique. Since it's difficult to get bottles now I'm happy to settle with a few cartridges.

I love the colour, much more than the subdued and kinda dirty pink of Noodler's Suffragist Carmine. However, too bad that this ink is not wet nor lubricating.

I'm happy to report that Amber will like the heck out of it (I think).

Thanks for the review. This is a better color than I had thought. Too bad it's not available (this is what I hate about LE inks: by the time you figure out it might be worth trying, or that you want a full bottle -- or several -- it's become unobtanium...).

^^ Ruth - montgomerystationery on ebay still has carts $6.39/pack (that's where I got mine). Another seller also has carts and there's 2 bottles up for sale at the moment.

I didn't find the color - a dull, dusty, dusky rose - very interesting, but that's just me.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

As I remember Diamine Hope Pink was a close contender.

I'm looking for the "perfect pink" to match my Grace de Monaco MB pen, but it won't be this ink ... Too pink (and too difficult to find :D )

thanks for the test :)

One pen roll, two pen rolls, three pen rolls ... So many pen rolls ! Do you want one ?

my tiny shop is open and you can have a closer look on my website to see my cotton (and sometimes silk) OOAK penrolls.

I won't shop from them. I had trouble with them not including what was listed, and they were snotty about it. I filed a dispute with eBay, and the matter was settled in a few hours in my favor. But from that point on, I avoid their listings like the plague. Also, two pens the same color but with different date codes are not a set (no matter what they tell you). It's two pens the same color. Period. And no, that's NOT why I filed the dispute.... Oh, and I wasn't allowed to give feedback -- *because* it was adjudicated in my favor....

Additionally (even if I hadn't had problems with the seller), I don't really have too many pens which take International Standard cartridges, which I believe MB uses.

I like the shading of this ink and the sheen.

Thank you for doing such a pretty review.

If you think the second version the pink one, than I would look around like Herbin Rose Tendresse...

Thanks, dear Lgsoltek, for this comprehensive review! ... I am still looking for a nice pink... the golden sheen is beautiful but I would prefer a light, aromatical and still expressive pink. But I still haven't found what I'm looking for... And in regard to the price of one bottle, I really think that it is not worth 50 Euro, Montblanc's Palm green in contrast is...

J. Herbin Bouquet d'Antan is my favorite pink. But I have issues with my MB, the nib is too dry, it clots easily, so i'm looking for another ink, that gets dry slower ...

(I'm using Sakura Mori from Sailor colours of season, but still looking for the perfect shade ...)

Hi,

Many thanks for your Review.

That has allowed me to avoid a disappointing purchase.

It strikes me as being somewhat poorly seated upon the page, hence awkward to read. (?)

Perhaps best suited for invitations to dance the Mambo, or a note of thanks after a night of Mambo dancing.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
