For All The Stupidity Over Not Talking About Pen Releases...

I would like to see a list or pinned thread that DOES talk about the already announced releases. Who can keep track.

Now that Mont Blanc makes so many different editions, limited, non-limited... all watered down. gimmicky and just trying to make a buck.

So where can I see by date of release a list of all "released" pens for 2016. Please share with me.

Great idea. Look forward to seeing you create such a list. But why limit it to 2016? Keep us posted on your progress. Thanks for assuming this responsibility.

It's what makes this forum great, that members take the time to create databases for others to enjoy. Look forward to seeing it 👍🏻

~ That would be fascinating, wouldn't it.

Pen by pen, year by year, month by month.

Differentiated by the numbers released, where known.

If that's created and posted, I'll read it with great interest.

Best to pop into a boutique or repair centre and ask to view their hardcover volume?

I think it deplorable that a venerable company like Montblanc is just trying to "make a buck". Where is the altruism in a company that markets

thousand dollar fountain pens ? This is ophstropulous !

Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

that's fair, they can do whatever they like, all I am saying is I can't tell what's new and "going to the boutique" in this day and age is a joke. I am in Manhattan and the boutique is not too far, but I tend not to go unless I have a purpose, I don't just browse and pretend. They have treated me well for all service needs for the most part. I do find the whole direction quite gimmicky though. Kind of like Montegrappa with their snake/stalone pen. totally gimmicky.

anyway, if someone has a list of all 2016 releases, please share. I saw one list of LEs, but no mention of the Martele or other standard pens.

This. So many gimmicks since about ten years ago- really an embarrassment. Older editions with subtle allusions were better.

I had understood that we could discuss about unreleased pens, but not show pictures of the pens ... ?? .... did I got it wrong ?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
