Beautiful pictures :) (and beautiful pen :D

But it's such a pity that on the box, they misspelled the title of St Exupery's book,it's "Vol de nuit", not "Vole de nuit"

Finally my reseller received the limited edition pen this week (sooner than foreseen  ) so just bought it.

These are the first photos I took of it:

The marketing materials didn't do the pen justice. These photos really show off how interesting the design is.

This is the first Writers Edition I have liked for some years (the regular one) so went ahead and ordered one. Originally thought I'd wait for a OB nib, but decided to just go a standard Medium as I will likely be using for journaling. Can't wait to receive it :D

I'm really having trouble resisting this pen (the LE). One of my favourite writers, with whom I share a surprising amount of circumstantial history, and gorgeous to boot...

Too many pens; too little writing.

in French "Marron" is "brown", It's the name and colour of the fruit of the Aesculus hippocastanum tree (horse chestnut or conker tree).

"Maroon" is "Bordeaux" in French (yes, we use the name of a town, and wines, to describe a colour :D )

There is another thread dedicated to the ink, I posted there a comparison of this ink with others such as Red Burgundy or Shakespear red velvet ... Quite strange : near a red, it looks brown, and near a brown, it looks purple, dark red, maroon ...

I come to find the colour "dark saffron" to describe it.

I really enjoy it.

Merci, MrsHobie, for reminding me marron is brown.

Will look at the ink. Right now i have Noodler's Eel Cactus Fruit in the Jules Verne pen.

Don't know ... I've never heard/seen that.

All I know is that Beaujolais is not considered as a good wine, especially "New Beaujolais" that is ready to sell on the 3rd thursday of November.

Sorry I can't help.

The colour looks fantatastic but I think it is safe to say that the MB notebook really cannot handle that nib and ink very well

The fountain pen is incredibly beautiful. I have never used MB paper/notebooks. Montblanc' area of expertise is fountain pens.

The boys in Hamburg also misspelled "Vole de nuit". The correct title is "Vol de nuit". This doesn't take anything away from the pen. (Just realized that Madame Hobie already noticed the error.)

Beautiful hand, and equally beautiful colour of ink. I think it has that "class" factor I expect from Montblanc.

I've been writing exclusively these past few day with my Saint WE, truly amazing NIB, it's so smooth. Love the weight, as it's heavier than most FP's I own. I put MB Ultra Black in it, my favorite black ink... Black ink insures I'll use it everyday, because that's all I use for work.

Love this pen, the dark blue with the platinum trim is amazing to look at.

I went for the Fine, I have 1 medium... and like the Fine Nibs better, also I feel a Fine MB nib is medium for a lot of other manufactures. This pen is an exceptional writer, as smooth as smooth can be.

Just got mine in as well. I've been using it for several days and I find that the fine nib is useful for everyday application and work. Love using it and find myself reaching for it all the time. I'm glad that I let go of my Montblanc 90th Anniversary Edition 149 and was able to purchase this pen instead. I wanted to get a Montblanc, but couldn't find one that really attracted me until now. The design is unique and the homage to Antoine de Saint-Exupery and The Little Prince makes the pen more endearing.

Hi Folks,

I'm considering buying this but haven't been able to find the dimensions.

Is this closer in size to the 146 or the 149?

Thanks.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
