Cool! Never heard of that initiative.

I was planning on participating, but I don't know where I can find a list of (preferably EU for postage reasons) people participating to InCoWriMo.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance!

The addresses on that site won't be published until 18th January, then you should be able to look through the address book.

The official site has been updated, it looks like: there are 2017 datemarks, a planning calendar, and the "28 people who want to receive a letter" is up now. Not to harsh on the new site, since now there are multiples!

I'm planning to participate, writing letters to my family and my penpals (which I met last InCoWriMo), and probably write to random folks too. I have international stamps, it will be great.

Wonder Pens in Canada also has this form: https://blog.wonderpens.ca/incowrimo-pen-pal-match/ which I'm not sure if they've been overloaded yet, but could be a fun way to get matched for the month!

I'll come up with something eventually.

Reminds me, I should check the LetterMo website too; I missed out in its first year in 2012

Been avidly following the activity every year, but have yet to participate. Mainly because I doubted my ability to see it through the full month. However, I feel it in my bones that this year will be different.

So, yes, I'll be participating. :D

I will be doing it again.

I have found, I can't quite do one a day, but I can do 28. So some days end up with more than one in that day's mail.

I've participated in Lettermo for the past 4 years. It appears that with Incowrimo if you want to participate you have to give your address and people write people from the pool of those registered. With Lettermo I can write to anyone in my personal address book or go to a persons profile page on Lettermo and initiate correspondence. Right now I have as many pen friends as I wish to correspond with. Am I correct about the difference?

I first heard about Incowrimo last year (after it was over), and it was described as simply writing and mailing one letter each day (or each day the PO is open). Who you wrote to was up to you. Addresses on the website were just for those who didn't have enough other people to write to... Dunno if it's changed. I have to figure out something interesting to do with myself before I can write interesting letters about my exciting life... :)

I think that's right Joel.

I'm in. Between postcards, correspondence notes, and actual real-life letters, I can usually get 28 out. Not necessarily one a day, but several a week. That last week, sometimes, is tight, though!

Oh, I forgot to say that I have plenty of regular and part-time pen pals to write to, so I don't need to pick up new ones. However, I did get a couple from LetterMo last year, and from the LettersWriters Alliance.

I usually get a few from here, and a couple of other places in addition to the full and part time people I correspond with anyway.

This will be my 3rd year participating. I'm looking forward to it, I've had a lot of fun over the past 2 years writing to current penpals, and some new people.

Yes it's that time of year when Lettermo and InCoWriMo is on the brain.

Admittedly I have some steady correspondents that will keep me busy throughout the year, but still love these events. I try and design some free download stationery to inspire folks to try some of these platforms that encourage this great art of tangible written correspondence. Here are some for LetterMo. Enjoy!

Ciao!

PS: WriteOn is usually in April

And MoreLoveLetters.... well I'm waiting for them to post the usual handful of rotating candidates who need letters, they usually have on this page.

I'm taking what is written on the official InCo site with a pinch of salt. "All of the names on this list are real, live people (well, almost all the names). I’ve spoken to each personally (trust me)" but one name on The List had been dead for over 100 years - Prince Albert, Duke of Edinburgh (now corrected)

I'm in this year, after seeing references for the last few years. I'm already a Postcrossing member so this will be in addition to that. I'm looking forward to it. Liz, my name will be on the list, just added it today. Or PM me for my address. I'll even write back!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
