Pratap Senior, an old ebonite ED pen obtained on the big auction site for the princely sum of $15 a few years back. It's pretty small but I like it nonetheless. The writing at the top of the left page (Hero carbon black ink) was done with it.

Happiness is an Indian ED!

today I am using one of my Ranga pens, an 8B in premium ebonite, ED system and bock M nib marked Conklin

it's a very smooth writer, with unrestrained flow (due to the ED and ebonite feed, a behaviour I much appreciate) and exceptionally prompt response, never dries out or has hard starts, even after weeks unused on my desk.

Due to this prompt response, and large size, it has almost become a desk pen.

From group-buy, Ranga Model 8B in Forest Green Special Ebonite with ED system and Kanwrite Flex Nib.

Smooth and excellent inkflow (expected of ED system) but need amount of pressure to get the flex line.

Very nice colour, forest green is a really nice ebonite.

I just got my other 8B from the group-buy in ED with the Kanwrite flex but frankly cannot feel much flex...

I was curious to try though, and being an ED I always have the option to swop another nib in, Ranga was kind to also include an extra feed that should fit a Bock nib.

Are there websites that sell FPR Pens? If there are, please help me with the links for the same.

They only have the one website that I'm aware of right now: fprevolutionusa.com.

I am using a Camlin 47! Seems to be really nice for a cheap pen. It has got a very nice nib which I really didn't expect from a cheap pen.
Skips are present in rare intervals, but seems to be OK nevertheless!

For the last month I have been using three pens: Black Nauka, Transnauka, and a Kim ACR. I have been enjoying them so much that it feels as though I don't have any other fountain pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
