Ah, a new thread. FPN moves with the times.

Today, perhaps failing to move with the times: 51 Special Demi, midnight blue, Lustraloy cap, medium nib, filled with Pelikan brilliant black.

Yellow (Aztec Gold?) Parker Vector, F nib. It's inked up with Platinum Classic Lavender Black IG.

I have two Parkers inked at present. A 51 Special with Waterman Serenity Blue and the 45 I have affectionately nicknamed "Sergio" because of the name engraved on it. Nice and wet with a fat Medium or narrow Broad nib. (not sure which) I put KWZI 150 Confederation Brown in it.

Thank you Mitto. It is a recent acquisition, I have personally restored it and it has become a favorite due to its very juicy Broad nib. Holds well over 2.1ml of ink with a synthetic sac.

My usual Parker 45 Custom in Midnight Blue with fine golden nib. This time it's loaded with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Brown ink. (Turqoise was in it previously).

Also, used my Parker 45 GT pencil for some crosswords :)

Using my Aerometric 51 Plum set at work today. The date code is 1948 4th quarter. It is inked with Montblanc purple, a perfect match.

After years (almost five) I have inked today my Sonnet Fougere Sterling Silver with the double gold rings on the sections and two tone 18k nib. I had stopped using my Sonnets due to the nib drying out syndrome. Let us see how the pen behaves.

Ink is Scrip blue.

Today it is a burgundy aero 51 with matching pencil. The medium nib is one of the smoothest I have. It is filled with Diamine Registrar's IG ink. I also have a navy blue P51 set inked up and in my briefcase, just in case. :-)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
