Parker 51 Demi with a generous medium nib. For more absorbent paper, Parker Super 21 with a nib on the fine side of medium. I much prefer the bigger nib.

I'm starting something new this year; I'll be taking one fp to work with me each week.

We mainly use pencils at work so there's limited opportunity to use my fps but I'm determined to use them rather than have them sit in a box looking pretty.

Good for you...!

Stay safe!

I'm starting something new this year; I'll be taking one fp to work with me each week. Last week, it was my Baoer 517 with Diamine Ancient Copper (a perfect match but they do not play well together - the ink gunks up the nib after as little as a hour of not being used). This week, it's my Wing Sung 016 (pretty little pen) with Diamine Chocolate Brown.

Nice one.

I mainly use pencil at work, but still find plenty of oportunities to use an FP...or two. :D

Trying to decide which Heritage 92 to keep and which one to return.

I have the 'F' and 'M' nibs with Diamine's 'Imperial Purple' freshly filled in both. They're almost completely different pens. Tough choices.

Well, for the next 4 months my roster will be:

-Platinum #3776 (M nib)

-Noodler's Ahab

-Sheaffer 300

Sidenote, I should review a few of these!

Kaweco Sport M with R&H Blau Shwarz and my Preppy (trying to burn through the cartridge to eyedropper it).

Cant wait for my birthday nest month though. Gave the wife a list of pens, cant wait to see which she picked out.

I have five pens I am using today: two Lamy Vistas (one with red and the other with green Lamy ink), Lamy Dark Lilac with Dark Lilac ink, Pilot Falcon with Diamine Grey and a Platinum Chartres Blue pen with Edelstein Aquamarine. I do a lot of course planning so different colours help me keep track of what I am up to - and I just love the colours!

Oh my goodness. (I'm on my phone and can't use the slobbery, drooling emoticon thingy, but I do require a bib).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
