Happy Birthday Pravda :)

I've treated myself to these two 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Organiser (Mini and Medium). Each piece is made from Ostrich leather and limited to only 75 pieces :)ldYtQFc.jpgKzn8TM1.jpgwn6Cf5A.jpg

Sweet! Pics of the insides? Maybe we should convince Pravda's wife that one of these is the next gift.

Just got this one today. A 1950's MB142 gray striated with a KM nib.

Very goodlooking pen, with the clever two-stage piston filling system, congratulations.

Thanks! If anyone wins the lottery, I lean toward the larger one.

My 146 B came in today and it is really nice. It will take a small amount of time to get used to B over M but I like the way it writes and the semi-italic nature of the B nib. My hand is a little shaky after just getting it (happens a lot on inking a new pen...) and this is the first writing I did after inking up so it's not going to be as nice as after I have used it a bit, but here is a picture...

Good choice! I love Ku-Jaku

Here's a teaser.

I just got the bottle of Ku-Jaku today the same time as the pen. I have used many other Pilot Iroshizuku inks with Kon-Peki as being a favorite. First inking of Ku-Jaku... So far I like it.

Looking forward to seeing more of the pen you are teasing ;)

So right you are Grant. On new pen day I do carry the new member of the family around everywhere I go....It's brother 146 M is going to feel a little neglected while I get used to the B nib.

Traded a Oscar Wilde for a Dumas (with the correct signature) at the Dallas Pen show. Now I have both Dumas pens père and fils.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
