Finally, it's the James Joyce WE I've been waiting on all these years. Comes with an engraved kidney on the nib and a red-brown ink that carries a faint whiff of urine.

It's just a big tease.

Amazing people here at fountainpennetwork !

Are you joking?

We are free to discuss everything we want! Is this a free world or not ?!

Another thing is to publish copyright material without an appropriate permission.

Only this second topic is a potential trouble for both the sender and the forum administrators...

Greetings from Italy to you all !!

Being able to do something and doing something are two entirely different things.

Simple common courtesy says that we should not discuss products the maker does not want discussed.

Fountain Pen Network is a privately-owned website. There are rules of usage for the whole website at the top of the FPN web page, and there are also rules specific to the Montblanc forum.

These rules do restrict what you can say here.

The first edition of Unicef was 2009. Four years later, we saw the 2013 second edition. This year is the fourth year after the second release: could MB will launch the tird edition of this marvelous partnership?

Here's hoping for an official Frankenpen on 2018!

My guess is that it's the new Katherine Hepburn edition, with the phrase, "The calla lilies are in bloom again" engraved upon the barrel.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

So when car manufacturers drive test mules and they are photographed, the photos should not be sold to the public and discussed?

Depends. If it was on a public road and you were walking there and photographed these mules yourself, you probably could publish them. But if these are someone else's pics they have a copyright. Publishing them without permission could lead to trouble.

I can totally understand not posting pictures without permission but it seems like we should be able to talk about things we've seen.

What more courtesy is owed to the profit motive than respect for the law?

Anyways, less discussion = less hype.

The courtesy is not owed to some profit motive but rather to the owners of this site.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
