Can We Talk About Not-Yet-Announced Pens Here?

I'm not linked to MB in any way, but have some information about a pen that I'm surprised to see that wasn't mentioned here at all.

Normally, I would just write a topic about it, but following the whole embargo thing from last year, I'm being careful and thought that I should ask first.

If Montblanc has not released information about it then I doubt we should be discussing it.

I believe as Jar said it'd be safer not to discuss it until it's announced.

*whisper* But if you want to talk about it with someone, I would be really interested to hear about it via PM 😇

No. Not allowed to talk about that one until the Bic-for-her lawsuits have cleared.

No, sorry. The one I'm talking about is more interesting IMHO, and google doesn't know about it AFAIK.

Anyways, I got it - No unannounced pens, I'll have to wait....

It's available and for sale, but maybe we can't talk about it...

I saw it in person, and while not as fat as a 149 it looks rather nice in person

As I understand it, the only issue previously was that copyright materials were posted without permission. I do not believe that simply discussing anything is a problem.

Maybe Masters for Meisterstück Firenze Alligator?

It has been announced yet

But already available for sale on the web, at least on a popular auction site...

The one I've mentioned isn't one of those. My guess that it's either going to be a donation pen or a special edition by it's own, and would definitely be one of the more talked about pens here.

This should be a new Montblanc marketing plot:

1) organize the leak of some photos of unreleased model on FPN

2) ask the admin of FPN to censor the post with the leaked photos

3) send people to ask 'can we can talk about this unreleased model? '

:)

By the way: I stopped by my local Boutique today, bought a couple of refills and asked about the steel version of the M. They told me that it will be released this year.

Finally, it's the James Joyce WE I've been waiting on all these years. Comes with an engraved kidney on the nib and a red-brown ink that carries a faint whiff of urine.

Nope. Gotta be a Dorothy Sayers pen dedicated to the Lord Peter Whimsey mysteries.

If you ask Wim nicely, he might explain yet again why we prefer to get the nice release packages from MB rather than chats with their legal team. The PR guys come bearing pretty pictures and official release notes.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
