How about an ink that matches your eye color?

How about an ink that goes well with your dog or cat's color(s)?

How about an ink that you write your ransom notes with?

How about matching an ink you don't like to a politician you don't like?

Be Happy, work at it. Namaste

OOH, I like those.

I think I'd prefer them to specific brands. I know that some brands are really hard to find in various global locations.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Did we suggest any historical references? (Other than Amber's birthday.)

There's always DCW's birthday, but that's been pretty well gazumped...

Thinking of references of international importance, without being political (i.e. no national days).

- First Moon Landing (a nice assortment of greys)

- Discovery of Radium (glowing greens)

I like these, especially the third one. For the first one I think we can expand it to an ink that matches your eyes, your hair, your nail polish, etc. For the second one I'm not sure coz not everyone has a pet. The fourth one might cause dispute on the forum so I guess we'll leave it for the moment.

Which themes in the current planning do you guys think we can switch out and change into some of these?

I like the first one. I like the second one too but there's already a periodic table week so it's kind of an overlapse?

If I may... A brand week... diamine's week, japanese week,

Of course, not so many weeks in the year :(

V.

For now there are two weeks for regions: France and Japan. And there's one brand week for Sailor.

There was a Montblanc week but I finally changed it. Not everyone has inks from many different brands. That's why I changed it.

I think if a week is dedicated to a brand I don't have I will choose an ink that looks like one from that brand... and play along anyway! So no reason to limit ourselves because of not having all brands... I think we can be as creative as we want!

OH Yes, with special bonus points, for Inks of the Americas from outside of the States. So, would Noodler's or KWZI inks made for the Canadian market get special points, or just if we can find ank made in Brazil?

Also, post Brexit does Diamine count as a European ink?

Britain will still be a European country even when it leaves the EU - which will take at least 2 years anyway :-)

I'm so excited, I finished writing and scanning the 366+ inks. Still work to do, but I'm so jazzed.

So many great ideas. I wish there were more than 52 weeks in a year!

Are there any current themes you guys aren't too fond of? We can replace them with some of the new ideas.

If not, we might just leave them as they are and leave the new ideas for 2018. We could do a "matching up two inks" project in 2018!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
