I love the hue and the red sheen, but for me this ink is a smudger - at least on Clairefontaine paper with a Lamy Safari F nib. It smudges even hours after initial writing.

I would guess it is the paper... Clairefontaine and Rhodia-paper is critical with some inks... e. g. I wrote a greeting card with Herbin's Bouton d'or and Vert prefer on a Rhodia DIN A6 card and it took hours (indeed nearly one day) to dry!

Totally the paper.... I stopped using Clairefontaine.. cause I love Wet Pens... and it will take forever to dry.

Agreed that Clairefontaine is a slow-to-dry paper for many inks. Yet, I have dozens of inks that dry just fine on Clairefontaine without smudging hours afterward. Or even a minute afterwards. So, people who like to use coated/smooth papers may want to try a sample first.

Since Anderson's is out of stock for five months or so now - more, I think - I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group buy.

I have emailed a retailer in Australia to see if he could accommodate us, but it was just a couple of days ago, so I don't expect an answer for a while. A correspondent in Australia advised me that the make is not very responsive to customer inquiries, hence going to the retailer, one of two he recommended.

Anyone?

I think our own Cyber 6 carriers it in their new online store. They are in Canada.

I have had a response from an Australian retailer who is willing to work with us. We haven't discussed details yet, but he is confident he can supply what we want, as well as other Blackstone inks.

Anyone interested?

My generous visitors from Australia just sent me this ink, along with the other five in the original series!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
