I am sorely tempted! And, since I have a low pain tolerance, I will probably order one.

Francis - Is it possible to order this pen threaded for a #6 JoWo nib? I have some nibs already that I would install, if this is possible.

Thanks.

David

Hi David,

Conid being standardized on Bock size 6 nib assemblies and the mating Bulkfiller parts already finished this is unfortunately not possible….

But probably the Jowo size 6 nib can be installed in a Bock size 6 feed and screw in housing ?

Thanks for your fast response, Francis!

I have no problem with Bock nibs. However, I would like a gold nib ground to a crisp cursive italic that writes a 0.8 mm wide line. Can this be had from the nibs you offer?

I have no experience with titanium nibs, but I would consider one as an alternative to a gold nib.

My everyday handwriting is italic (formal and cursive).

No problem in grounding your nib perfectly according your preferences David, just mark it on your order.

Complementary grounding cost is only 25.00 €

Best regards, Francis

How consistent are the colors between pens? This material looks like it would have lots of color variation and I tend to like darker browns.

Hi Mulrich,

There are logically some color variations between the pens.

However If you specify " color to be as brown as possible" on the order form, Conid will surely take this in account.

This looks great...

Do we have the option for any of the fancy options, like the casio nib units, or how about a choice in the material or size of nib?

I guess I'm asking what options are permitted on this special edition?

Thank you for posting the picture

Hi bleair,

Caiso can only be integrated in the kingsize bulk filler.

So not possible, while this is a "regular" version.

Alternatively gold, titanium or stainless nibs can be installed according your choice.

And nibs can be ground according your wishes.

You can make your choice on the order form while ordering at the Conid website.

Regards,

Francis

Francis, this is a lovely material and the size of the details (lines and swirls) are well matched to the size of the pen. This specific pen shows a continuation of line between the barrel and section. In other words, the details stop at the ink window and then continue again on the section. That makes a nice impression. Is that continuous detail in all of them, or just this one?

Hi cunim,

Thanks for your reaction,

Difficult to confirm if the continuous details of the swirls between barrel and section are as good on all the pens.

This particulate pen was just random taken out of the batch, not selected for this purpose.

Conid surely tried the match the parts to obtain this effect, but not sure if they match always fully.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Francis

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
