After a bit of a buying hiatus, I have been busy and along with a Pilot VP and a lovely Parker Vacumatic Major, I have also got these coming (hopefully next week), I have been well and truly bitten by the pen bug again and wonder if you can help me with some more information on these?

Top appears to be a Sentinel Deluxe set and bottom is the much shorter Tuckaway set. Both sets seem to be vacuum fillers but could be either the plunger fil or touchdown. To determine which look at the size of the tube when you pull out the filler. Thin is plunger fill, fat is touchdown. Regardless, they both likely will need rebuilding.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
