I got mine a few days ago (silver). I'm very happy with it. I love the color, but it's more cognac than wine - a brownish red. A touch browner and lighter than the picture that starts out this thread.

Would you say it's closer to maroon or red, if you had to choose?

Ordering a London Fogs from Bryant atm, steered clear of the Red Wine LE, not sure that should be even considered a true LE.

Quite happy with the pattern I got. :D

Amazing service and great prices, gotta love the man. :)

He's definitely one of my major enablers. Alas, my emergency root canal ate my pen budget. There will be one more black trim available than there would have been. Waaaaaaaaaa! Sniff*

The comparison photo shows an Omas that I consider maroon or burgundy, the Wine in the middle and a Visconti tortoise that I consider brown or amber.

The bottom photo is one that Bryant sent me. If anything the differences in color are understated in the photo.

Hi,

Just wanted to share some news that I got hold of. New Visconti FPs being released just before the Christmas season :).

I know the information here is limited and sometimes maybe incorrect, but please note that I know this from a buyer's/user's perspective - which is always limited!

The pens are expected end of the month.

First up is the Caput Mundi - this is how I first came to know about it (hence the picture), but it is now named Red Wine.

The pen will come in 3 trims - Bronze, Silver and Black. This is another iteration of the Homo Sapiens line and one that it is quite attractive IMHO.

attachicon.gif0.jpg

There will be: 50 of the Bronze, 28 of the Silver and 28 of the Black limited worldwide

The Bronze will be sold by Italian (Rome) retailers (Stefano from Stilograph Corsanni will have about 20 - http://www.stilographcorsani.com/en/

The Silver and Black will be sold as a special edition by Bryant at Chaterley Luxuries - https://chatterleyluxuries.com/ - I know the picture doesn't show the one with the blackout trim, but Bryant is expecting the pens to arrive this week!

Next one (no pics of these one) is a "re-release" of the opera Crystal With black trims - to be called demo midnight (just black, I was wrong when I mentioned silver in when I first did this post ).I would estimate until there are more pictures available that it will be very similar to this one Opera Crystal Dark Age, but with palladium nibs - and no mosquito! Limited to 38 pens worldwide

Price point for all these pens (at least Bryant's ) will be around the $500 - $600 range - again i'm just a visconti user so until they are up for grabs we wont know the actual value for sure.

All pens will be 23Kt palladium in all the usual sizes with the black trim pens having all black 23Kt palladium

Hope this is of good use to someone!

Jack

A little late update to this post, but all of the pens are available in some form, there might be more, but these are the ones I know of

The Silver Version -

Definitely the pick of the trim variants; nice one!

Am I the only one that wishes for more OMD LE's? That midnight Opera Crystal looks nice but it's much too small.

Oh I seriously need to stop myself! Sent an email to Sarj about a particular Visconti that I'm looking for. If he somehow manages to do the impossible, I'll promise myself not to buy myself another Visconti again. -_- -_- (Let's see how long that holds up :lticaptd: :lticaptd:   )

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
