In the vein as the historical pen pals post I replied to recently, would anyone be interested in writing to each other as fictional characters? I'm primarily thinking of established ones, but I wouldn't object to your own, either. The universes don't have to match, nor the times; in some way, it'd be interesting if they didn't. I'm personally curious about writing as Star Trek's Mr. Spock, or as the severely underrated novel Dreamdark: Blackbringer's protagonist, Magpie Windwitch.

Anyone up for this?

Oh, this sound so fun! And there are so many wonderful characters to choose from. Can we have more than one character? I've love to write as Christmas Carol's Ebenezer Scrooge and Little Women's Jo March. And maybe time/brain cells permitting, the twelfth doctor from Doctor Who. Oops, I meant 11th!

This sounds cool. Not sure yet who I'd like to choose. Maybe Cordelia or Regan from King Lear, Elizabeth or Jane Bennet, or Lucy Van Pelt (or Linus) or Sally Brown.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
