Welcome! A great place to find out about fountain pens, paper, ink, history, repair and much more. Watch out however there are a great bunch of enablers that hang out here. If you have a pen or two, in a couple of years you may have a lot more!

Welcome to the FPN!

 

I found the FPN, and through our forum then discovered Goulet's! Which ever way it happened it is the same results in the end. There is another excellent site that I like because they will take the pen fill with ink and make sure that it is as smooth as you want it. They also make sure that the flow is to your preference, that online store is nibs.com, or Classic Fountain Pens, ( no affiliation, just a satisfied customer).

 

Do you have a favorite ink or paper, yet? Not to worry, there's plenty of time for that.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
