Um... I think it means future limited edition inks will be available in bottles to everyone worldwide (not previously the case). Rather than it meaning Dark Lilac is making a return. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong, naturally, but maybe temper your hopes a little.

To be biting, lemmee say I bet it'll be available in bottles all over the world but not in Germany.

The video clip shows the deep lilac colour...hopefully it means that it will be available. I hope so. I was buying a pen in The Vancouver Pen Shop and had wanted to buy the Deep Lilac ink. Unfortunately they didn't have any left to sell but they offered to fill my new pen with the opened bottle of ink they had on hand. I gratefully took them up on it.

The special edition Lamy Dark Lilac bottled ink is only available in "selected overseas countries", which sadly does not include the UK. We would like this to change, as it is a beautiful colour which we would like to make available on our website.

Please sign this petition, and let Lamy know you'd like the Dark Purple bottled ink to be made available in the UK. Thanks!

IT'S COMING NEXT YEAR!

Well, I might be wrong but for me there's nothing ambiguous about this and it's pretty clear that they were talking about Lamy Dark Lilac and that this ink will be available again in 2017 .

IT'S COMING NEXT YEAR!

Is plenty ambiguous. I want "it" to mean Dark Lilac, but "it" could equally well be "Special Edition ink in bottles".

Now if they're re-releasing Dark Lilac as a special edition again, then yeah, huzzah. If they're adding it to the regular line, even better. No-one happier than I. But I'd be really, really surprised if The Pen Company was the only one to have this knowledge, and able to share all the way back in May, to boot. And no one else anywhere has so much as mentioned it?

Yeah sorry but that definitely does not say anything about previous colors, the implication is clearly for future. It is of course possible that they will do (limited) runs of previous issues but, that little snippet does not indicate so.

I actually rang to The Pen Company some time ago and they told me that I misunderstood what they wrote. It's NOT confirmed that Lamy will actually release this ink again. I apologize.

Being late for Freddy, got down to the new Lamy only shop in Heidelberg in September to find out the last bottle they had was in May. (That was after my B&M tried to order me a bottle from Lamy.)

I did want a bottle of that because of the massive shading.

De Atramentis Aubergine not a shading ink.

After Christmas, I'll go on German Ebay...and pay the fortune...in I doubt it will be reissued given they didn't make enough to get to June.

What a shame. I really think that Lamy underestimated the demand for both the pens and the ink....

I'm sorry now that I didn't get a third bottle of Dark Lilac when I had the chance....

I'll buy that....

... although Dark Lilac is redder and Aubergine is bluer. The Lamy bleeds a lot, the De Atramentis doesn't bleed at all. With a Herbin glass dip pen on Rhodia 80 g/m2....

Does the DA sheen though??

Yes, the DA sheens too. Gold, like the Lamy. Maybe not quite as much but definitely, yes,

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
