Rotring Nib Change?

Does anyone know if it's possible to change a nib on a Rotring 600. I have been using the EF that came in my Rotring 600 and would like something with a bit more width, I'm thinking a Fine or Medium. Anyone know if I send it off to Rotring will they change it up??

Sorry I didn't answer earlier, I just noticed your post. Yes is the answer. I bought a Rotring 600 with a broad nib and it was a real paint brush. I sent it in and they exchanged it for a Medium, I think I should have gone fine.

Any way, I contacted the service center and they said to send the pen in and they would fix me up!

The email I used was:

PwrRepair.Janesville@Sanfordcorp.com

Phone:

(800) 237-8736

They had me ship to:

PWR Service Center

2200 Foster Ave

Janesville, WI 53547-5100 (for Post Office Delivery)

or 53545 (for UPS Fedx Delivery)

Hope this Helps! Took about 3-4 weeks

I was just about to start a topic about how I can get the Broad nib in my 600 swapped out for an Extra Fine. If you are interested in going down this road with me, feel free to PM.

Update for any one interested. Just got my e-mail back from Sanford, here it is:

Have you recently purchased your pen? (within the last 60 days) If so, we do offer a nib exchange program. You would need to return your pen along with the warranty pamphlet or the proof of purchase and we would exchange the nib for you. If you have had our pen for a longer period of time the cost for a replacement nib would be $30.00. We would have to send your pen to France to have the nib replaced. The process would take about four weeks.

Kind Regards,

Lynn

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
