Wow didn't know you reviewed Fountain Pens too. Well just as your Ink reviews you do it utmost thoroughly....

excellent review and axcellent photography :happyberet:

Das leben ist wie ein Perpetuum Mobile mit ein Mangel..... Immer im Bewegung jedoch nicht unendlich. (life is like a troubled Perpetuum Mobile ever moving but not for ever)

Tricked throughout the centuries...

For centuries people had been tricked by kings & "religion-alism"

In the 20th century people got tricked by communism

Today people get tricked by (neo)capitalism :)

Due to rarity of that pen I think it would be cool to show some pics from my little workshop:

Nib unit is screw in type and looks similar to Pelikan ones

Section is glued to the barrel

It's possible to do this but it's not important.

Screw in type piston unit. It looks exactly the same as Pelikan...

Snakewood part is glued to the barrel, metal ring is friction fit.

Then, assuming that paying almost a full price (which is something like 695 or 795 EUR) you bought it in an official retail store, you undoubtedly have a right to have the nib section tuned/ replaced. If the seller fails, go directly through your local GvFC representative, or even the company headquarters. They care :)

Well, after taking it to the seller four times and complaining also that it was a noisy pen, he got mad at me and undid the sale. So now there is no problem to me. It was €600, by the way. I think it was a good price. I liked the pen, the feel of it, but I disliked that it stopped writing after a few pages. I might try another Faber Kastell some time...

Thanks for your help.

A man, an idea, a pen.

Very surprising. Someone may claim the impact of "southern temper", but my experiences with buying and returning "pens with issues" in Barcelona are very positive.

Apart from the unprofessional behaviour of the seller, it may be an indication, that they have little support from the local GvFC representative, which would be surprising too.

It may be worth to have a look at my classifieds :)

You should. This is another of the companies that pays attention to even the most mundane of details.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
