Hi Guys,

my friends go to Japan on sunday, for a short trip, so I ask them to buy for me Sailor Pro Gear Slim Earth edition. But where they can buy it?

From a friend I know about 3 shops, Sekaido, Itoya or Kakimori. But I'm not sure, that my friends will have much time to check all these shop.

Does any of you know where are the best chance of getting Sailor Pro Gear Slim Earth, where can I send my friends?

Anyone can help me? :) Maybe someone from Tokyo can help me? ;)

regards!

I thought the Sky and Earth are not available in Japan? But I could be wrong.

If you wanted a pen that's in regular production in the Japanese market and want to make sure the stock is there, Itoya and Maruzen are the best bets. They are close to each other and not too difficult to find. The other shops just don't carry as much stock.

gerigo, you might be right! Maybe Sky and Earth are not available in Japan...

I'm to scatterbrained and could have missed it ;)

And... I do not have any Sailor yet, so I'm not very oriented, and I didn't know that special edition could be not available in Japan. My mistake!

I really liked the color of this edition... so I thought that instead of the classic black, this earth color will be more interesting choice.

Thank you.

So... maybe I'll choose just regular Sailor ;)

In Maruzen they have Pro Gear, but I'v decided to choose 1911 right now (from Itoya). I want still Pro Gear Slim, but Earth edition ;)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
