Demi size?

In certain pics it looks demi while in others it looks standard size. So, I am not sure about the size.

The ebay newbie here is beating himself to death by reacting to every bid to keep himself on top.

To the newbie:  save yourself some money and snipe the auction with a sniping program.  You can use the program to monitor the auction more quickly.  Recommended snipe amount:  $600.

Well, the pen sold for just $430. Only $5 above the price of the pen you lost in 2003-4.

I would have lost again.  Well, I have my old crappy used plum set.

Monogrammed, it should reduce the price

Its a bit dear isnt it, starting price $145 for a very ordinary 51 with a deep personalisation.

Seems like only yesterday since I bought 51s at £20, flushed 'em and buffed 'em  and then sold at £30-35 and thought I had done very well.

Using the pronoun I more than once in any post means that you are boring, pompous and would be better posting elsewhere, in fact anywhere.

It's a plum pen.  Looks like a demi at five inches.  It's probably a high starting price.  It might be more like an ending price after some bidding.  Some people don't like personalized pens.  I have usually changed the barrel on ones I had, but with plum it's not too likely you are going to find a replacement plum barrel free of personalization, at a low price anyway.  One of the less common colors, the seller might get that much.

You think the personalization is "MEF?"  I looked at the ebay pics and it looks like "MEE."

The last letter does not look clear. It can be E and it can be F too.

The image with the personalisation appears to have disappeared, curious.

I have just checked after your post. It is still there. Are you sure you saw all the images?

I cannot see the enbossing MEE either, not sure why.

Looks like a cranky seller, one to avoid.

How many people does it take to comment on a question on FPN? One to give advice and make suggestions. Another one to repeat everything that the first poster has said. Fourteen to share their own experiences of their pens and comment on how the original advice was flawed.
Seven who just want to increase their post count. One to say that they have no regrets about doing anything and people should follow their example. Another to say that if there is anything wrong with the pen it is just down to using Diamine Shimmer ink. Six to argue over whether its a worth doing anything with it and the OP should just throw it away and buy their Parker 51. Another six to condemn all of the above as being  stupid and anyway they would rather be on FP Geeks. One to say that the pen is cheaper where they live. Five people to post pics of their own pens. One to say that if the OP had Faith then the pen would work - and gets banned very quickly.

Finally, one to close down the thread because it has lost its way.

I can still see it. Image 4 of 9. As to why some of us can see the image and others cant, it is a mystery.

If you use the ebay magnification feature, you should be able to see it is "MEE."  I was wondering until I selected the larger image.

Well, well:

http://www.ebay.com/...cvip=true&rt=nc

$149.50.  Not bad for a pen all about "MEE."

A very ordinary pen, devalued by MEE and fetches all the money.

Ebay appears to be fetching top prices, I have a friend who sells on FPN Classifieds for much less than the $149, around $65 for a good 51, basically as a favour to members.

Someone has got it wrong!

Perhaps the buyer has got some remedy to polish away / fill the 'MEE'. Or may be s/he needed the hood so badly. Or as you say s/he got it wrong altogether.
