Thanks. Is that a commonly held acronym that developed while I was not looking (like AFAIK?) or is it a product of the texing world (that I don't belong to)? Just curious.

I have no idea. I learned it here, but I am not savvy with the world of tech. It amuses me because I think it is a generational phrase. Younger folks tend to know where to access info quickly, but don't store as much random info as those of us who grew up without computers and Google. We actually store and recall info from our memory, but as we don't always dust out the corners of our mind sometimes recall is fuzzy.

No offense meant to anyone, just some observation/amusement from my little spot in the universe.

If you want less blah, blah, blah and more pictures, follow me on Instagram!

As a COF,... I hear you. :D

I'm constantly learning new ways of expressing myself. If I don't understand something, I ask.

Someone confirm, please. Visconti uses the International Standard cartridge. They are available everywhere, some at "dirt-cheap" prices. Get a syringe. Fill with your favorite ink.

DADYC ? Good day from SRPID .

You got me on them both, Sasha.

Re; filling with a syringe, I've done that with C/C pens that don't travel out of the house.

On the road, but even more, in the air, I like a commercially sealed internat'l cart, to open at my destination.

If you go to Ink Reviews you will find 8-10 inks listed. The blue is vivid and well thought of. It's on my list to get.

I think Visconti makes it's own inks....they made a real niffty ink well set too.

Aurora only makes two inks....so making ink in Italy is not impossible. Nor would I think Italians would be happy using English ink instead of home made.

Went looking for where it was made, On the Blue, Sandy1 said it was not stated on the box.

Then to check....I found out I Must Buy the purple. a Major shading ink.

I'm short of Purple only have 8 or so.....it Shades..... :puddle: .

I refuse to look at the others....they might Shade. :headsmack:

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Thanks Bo Bo, I have combed through all the Visconti ink reviews to to see if I can answer the original question. I have their Blue in cartridges too. I tried their sepia to replace the now unavailable OMAS sepia.

On the whole of it, it doesn't matter where the ink is made if it's a good ink. I was just curious, that's all.

I can guarantee you the "texting world" wouldn't use the word "recall".

I can confirm that the blue ink in Visconti cartridges, which are standard International, is not even close to the same blue ink in the Visconti bottle. It looks much more like Waterman or Lamy blue. I was very disappointed.

@J85909266 Thanks for this detail and info, I've tested two different suppliers and have the same results (very pale blue) and very similar to Florida Blue - Waterman, I'll have to get the bottle http://www.peruhardware.net/foros/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/IPB/mmm.gif

Ah! So it's not just me!

Having used Visconti blue from a bottle I was worried they'd given me a dud!

My Vintages:

Sheaffer Triumph, Saratoga, Targa Slim and Targa Standard; Waterman 3V and 52 1/2V; Mabie Todd Swan Self Filler x 2; Eagle Unbreakable in sterling silver; Eversharp Bantam; Parker Duofold Lucky Curve BCHR and Duofold in red hard rubber; Spors Co. glass nib pens x 4; Conklin 2NL and 20P.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
