@mehandiratta: hope you're doing better now? As always thanks for your efforts. Still thinking about this one, having only just received the transparent Bamboo, may give it a pass...

Received a message that my pen has been shipped. Thank you for that quick service. Now the long wait for the postal delivery - if only customs is friendly to me....

Dear Mr. Aramchek Sir,

Sorry. We don't have it.

I missed to take photo of Giant Designer Pen that we made on last week.

Take care.

Just wanted to share the first pictures of this pen. It arrived yesterday from India in a nicely sewn cloth. Inside a nice sturdy box, a free Fellowship pen (thank you Mr Kandan!) and a plastic pipette.

The pen looks superb and with a Jowo 1.1 stub writes nice wet, used as an eyedropper. It feels nice and warm in my hand with good proportions. This is not a review of this pen, so here are the pictures (sorry only simple ipad pictures):

I have been so impressed with the pens I've bought from Ranga. Beautiful writers right out of the box and beautifully hand crafted by Mr. Kandan's Dad, Mr. Pandurangan. I've also been very happy with the JOWO stubs and broads I've received. Can't wait to see my new Designer Pen. For a handcrafted pen , his prices are very reasonable. And thank you to mehandiratta for arranging these group buys. Here are photos of my favorites.

I have added a very rough review of this great pen in the review section, maybe this helps some people making their decision to join in this group buy.

My beautiful Ranga Designer Pen has arrived and I couldn't be happier. It is flawless...with a smooth as glass Jowo B nib which wrote without skips or hard starts right out of the box. I chose Callifolio Inca Sol as the innaugural ink and the flow is about 6-7/10...just like I like it. Thanks to Mr.Pandurangan and Mr. Kandan for another awesome writing experience.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
