Dear Everyone,

I have a Visconti Metopolis the Gordian Knot solid gold fountain pen needed repair. However, I live in Hong Kong and, after checking the Visconti official website, it seems that no repair service is provided in my area.

Also, I have already sent two emails to Visconti Italy to enquire the repair matter. However, after 5 days, no any reply is received!

Under this situation, what I should do in order to have my pen repair!

I really hope someone can advise me!!

Regards,

John

I hope Visconti has taken care of your repair. If not, I know the Visconti distribution agent in Taiwan/Hong Kong who can take care of this.

I hope by now you've gotten a reply from Visconti. I sent a pen in for repair through the US distributor and was told that Visconti in Italy shuts down during the month of August for summer holiday which may explain their slow reply.

Shutting a company down for a month doesn't make a lot of sense to me but I live in the US where "vacation" is almost a bad word.

Hi, I might need to send in my Visconti for an expert to take a look.

Can i ask what was the resolution for the above?

Is there a contact for someone in Hong Kong who can help? Its nothing serious at the moment, but I inked up my Watermark, and now it has ink in corners that I can't seem to flush out.. I need someone who can help take it apart to clean or at least let me know how to clean this properly...

no amount of flushing or soaking is helping. And I am not comfortable storing my pen which is still wet after 4 days in Hong Kong's weather where Mold is rampant.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
