Letters To Strangers, A Fpn Letter Swap.

The point of this is to be able to write to people that are entirely different from you. To write to strangers, to get a new perspective. Instead of one long term exchange, you will write to lots of different people without the need to commit to anything.

So, here's how it works: You post your name and any other information you want to give about yourself here, everything but your name is optional. Then people who want to recieve letters from you will PM you with their address. Then you as the sender will just have to try to write to as many of the Recievers as possible. As sender, remember to write your address somewhere on the letter or envelope if you want people to be able to write you back

Here's my entry: Andreas Nygren, I live in Finland but speak swedish as my first language. I wear hats and love books. I also really like all sorts of games.

I am Nathan, I like origami, the occasional craft project and math. Yes, math problems are my way of passing the time.

There really isn't anything that interesting about me.

Hey, I'm Arne. I'm a 32 yo teacher and apart from fountain pens I'm interested in analog photography, soccer, travel and literature. But I have to say that my handwriting is atrocious, but I'm getting there .... slowly.

Hi!

I'm Suzana. I love cycling, soccer, reading, traveling and writing. I will try to reply to all the letters I (might) get. My handwriting is not nice, though. But I do my best.

Looks like this list isn't getting much love.

Hi, my name is Mark. I live in southern California, sell medical software, and enjoy astronomy and most things in the sciences. I also enjoy my pens and using them. I enjoy penpals too.

We already have the FPN Post Office and the Snail Mail Writing list that attract FPN members to write to each other. :)

If members have completed their member profile, then the information sought here will be readily available for other members to go and read before they decide whether to request someone's address details or not. :)

There might be a reticence for many members to write their full name on a thread that anyone in the world (not just FPN members) can read. -_-

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
