Please Help Me Identify This Hargreaves Landsdowne Cross Fp

I won a Cross Pen set on e-bay. I'm not entirely sure which type of Cross pen it is. The description said the set was worth £125, but there's a couple of sets at this retail price.

I know it's not the Century - I suspect it is the ATX, and not the Townsend but I'm not exactly sure, and there's no documentation. Could someone enlighten me, please? Does this take the same convertor as the Cross Century? (Green one, I think)

Thank you.

Just to add - a lot of these sets seem to be appearing on e-bay. Customers receive them when they do some kind of deal, or introduce their friends to Hargreaves Landsdown in the UK and a fair few turn up on e-bay. They are branded, and as such not many collectors seem to bid for them. It's a matching FP and ballpoint set, and can be picked up for around £18-£25 (Don't go chasing them, as they seem to appear quite regularly).

I think ATX as well, from their website. Never held one in the flesh, myself.

Thank you - it does indeed look like the Cross Dubai. As Dapperman says, the pen is not exactly identical to the ATX, and this is why I've been having problems. it's similar, but not quite. The "groove/bump" at the end of the nib section is not on the ATX and the chrome ring on the cap is not on any of the ATX ones I've seen.

An old friend of mine had amassed a handful of Cross pens, so when I saw this I thought it was the Bailey... Searching for that turned up the Dubai.

I'm glad it seems to be correct. Enjoy your pen!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
