Recommend Tomoe River Seller? 68Gsm Ivory

Houston

Recommended Posts

Hi, there:

Can this august group of paper fetishists recommend a good seller of TR 68gsm Ivory?

I'm looking for a seller in the US, and also looking for one in the UK. (Long story.)

Keen to buy sheets in packs of 100 or so.

Apologies if covered to death, previously.

Many thanks, in advance.

I remember on the Goulet YouTube channel a while back Brian mentioned something about the current batch of GPC notebboks being made with 53 gsm as opposed to 68 because their supplier was out of 68 when they placed the last order. It may be that they don't have it right now but might get it again in the future.

A quick search on eBay turns up one guy. Strangely, he sells only in 70 or 210 sheets hmmm, but normal 52gm is available in 100 and 200 sheets.

No idea about service, never tried him before. Maybe someone else can help?

Thanks for that. I'm aware of the issue. The discussion indicates that the issue is only with the white sheets, not the cream/ivory sheets.

So, still looking for a happy place to buy the heavier cream sheets.

Thanks, again.

I've ordered from http://paperforfountainpens.com/collections/all twice, with very satisfactory results. No connection, other than being a satisfied customer.

The cream paper is fine. The chap is not fine because he sold the white paper without advertising it is not good.

Yes, I agree this was not good.

I am giving him a bit of leeway because I don't think he realised there was a problem until I told him but he did not then alter his listings or offer any refunds.

Bureau Direct have got TR 68gsm in notebooks.

I have tried to get various people to stock it as loose sheets or pads to no avail as yet.

What should I search for @ Bureau Direct? I typed in Tomoe River & got "O" results.

"Taroko Design" in Notebooks

Thank you, I would have not known the Tomoe River was hiding inside these notebooks. They are good looking & one is on it's way to me.

I appreciate your help.

I'm a big fan of Taroko Design Notebooks. Stateside you can order it out of Louisiana via RedPenTravelers.com.

You can also find it from the maker, Steven Chang, on etsy.com search for Taroko Designs shop. Both sources ship quickly with reasonable prices. The Midori Passport Size and FN sized notebooks were part of the NMPCC 2016 annual project. This year we got a group Leather Notebook cover with these notebooks from jpleathercraft . They worked well with the clubs various pens, nibs. and inks. Jose Pirul has a web site and can be found on etsy also. He does fantastic work. Back on topic, I had some special requests and Mr. Chang was quick to meet them. Mr. Chang ships out of Taiwan and the shipping timer to New Mexiuco, USA, was remarkably quick. Pleased to see Bureau Diret, one of my fav UK Resources, is carrying them too. Usual Disclaimers apply. A super satisfied client of jpleathercraft and Taroko Design.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
