Love, love, love this ink. I'm not at all sure about the translation - Chapel Island Green Gold is what showed up in Google Translate. This is an ink made by Sailor for the Style Dee shop: http://styledee.jp

yesss, a very nice colour, in the line of the murky greens I love. And being Sailor, a winner then.

Thanks for the review.
It's weird just how different the ink looks on the different papers. On the Graphilo paper it reminds me a lot of J Herbin Vert Empire (which is about as murky as I can take). But on Rhodia I'm seeing a lot less green and a lot more gold.

Think I'll pass on this one (but if I had only seen the example on Graphilo I might have considered it).

Oh wow, I really like the look of this. Definitely a gorgeous murky brown-green!

I find that many Sailor inks, and some KWZs, are extremely paper-dependent, more so than any other brands: they'll look one way on papers like Tomoe and Graphilo, and completely different on absorbent papers like Rhodia, etc. It's great when you like both 'looks,' but can be frustrating when you prefer one to the other.

YES, please!

And thank you for introducing me to another ink that would be happy with it's brethern in my cupboard. Sadly, I fear it may NOT have it's "passport for the US,"

easily located. Still nice to see another example of what Sailor does so well.

LOL, my first thought was that Cyber6 would love this ink! I'm glad I know your inky tastes.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I'm confused. I'm checking out the site, and I find only a few bottles of ink. One J. Herbin. The others are the standard Sailor/Kobe style ink bottles, so the short, round ones. The images all say "Delta". Are these the same thing, or something else? They certainly aren't the standard Delta (Italian) ink bottles, which only have a few colors and nothing like this.

EDIT: OK I see from the topic title the word "Delta", so yes this is it. Limit one per customer apparently. But does it ever say "Sailor" anywhere, or is this a stealth brand identification?

Like Mew says, it comes in the short Sailor bottle with the typical silver and black Sailor box.

So glad you like it. :cD

Another informative review!

Thanks for the heads-up on this one! :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
