I never participated in one. Is it going to happen this year as well? What are your expectations for this year?

They have done it for the past few years. So, my guess is, there's going to be one this year. The best way to know for sure is to sign up for their newsletter and you'll get notified when it does happen.

I am looking forward to getting the 2016 LE. I hope l can tune the nib to a nice broad CI nib.

In 2015, I was lucky enough to get the last of the Black Rose LE.

Subscribing. I bought my wife her first Edison at the DC pen show and she loves it. I can't wait to hear what it's going to be this year - should be soon!

Brian C and J8590926 you are in the right ballpark. I'll be recording my announcement video tomorrow, all other media is done. We need to wrap up a smaller project and then we're set to go. So expect an announcement this week (barring something unforeseen).

And since we are so close to the announcement, I'll just spoil a secret now. Instead of a buying period and then you wait for your pen for about 2-4 months, the pens are done NOW. READY TO SHIP. When we announce, you will place your order and the pen will ship the next day.

Last year, I was not happy that we predicted 2-4 months, and it took us all of the 4 months to get it done. Our December Holiday rush caught us way off guard last year. I like to under-promise and over-deliver (1-2 months if I say 2-4 months) and we certainly didn't do that last year. We are going to try it this way this year and see how it goes.

So stay tuned, and if history repeats itself, LE's like this sell out fast (usually 3-5 days), so don't sit on this and make a late decision. Not pressuring anyone at all, just letting you know how these things have gone in the past. They probably won't be around more than a week.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
