Omas - Which Would You Send Back ?

A bunch of Omas that were offered at significantly (IMHO of course) reduced prices, have landed on my desk. I can afford to keep 3, so the rest would need to go back. The wish, of course is to keep all of them, but my banker vehemently disagrees. Do note that all of them were offered around the same price around 375 Euro equivalent, except for the c/c filler which is reduced further. All of them new/un-used/un-inked

 

The question is : Which of these would you send back and why

 

#1 Paragon - Art Deco Limited Edition - Piston fill - Gold Trim - Stub

#2 Paragon - Art Deco Limited Edition - Piston fill -Gold Trim -Broad

#3 Paragon - Art Deco Limited Edition - Piston fill -Gold Trim -Medium

#4 Milord Dark Ebony Wood - Arte Italiana - Piston fill -Silver Trim - Stub

#5 Paragon - Arte Italiana - Piston fill - HT trim - EF

#6 Milord - Arte Italiana"mother of pearl maroon"/Bordeaux - C/C fill - Ruthenium Trim - Broad

 

I've got a week to decide and I love ALL of em

It's more difficult without pictures as I don't know which ones have GP bands on their grips or which ones have metal grips.

 

However, I wouldn't want a Milord, or any with a metal grip, or the C/C filler. If I then had to choose I would send back any with the GP band near to the nib as I think I would rub and wear that when I was writing.

 

On the other hand if you don't want your numbers 1,2,3 or 5 please let me know.

It is a tricky decision and like Chrissy without pictures it's difficult to be sure.

 

I think I would look at nibs, so keep one stub the M and one B and the EF.

Since the said pens are still sealed, I will have to resort to links to the pictures on Omas site instead (below). The Paragon Ht has the metal section, the LE has GP near the nib, not so near that one would clasp it when writing, of course that depends on how far away one holds the grip from the nib. you don't seem to like the milords much.... so would you have shipped every thing back ?

My thoughts,

 

#1,#2,#3 The Art Deco LE is very light and the guilloche is so nice to touch; combined with its piston fill mechanism, I guess it would be ideal for long writing sessions... must have

 

#4 The Madagascar’s Bois de Rose Noir wood is gorgeous, sensuous deep red-violet-brown, which I am sure is hard, nigh impossible to capture with a camera. I have handled the other two wood variations in this line (Olive & Rose Ebony wood ) and they are less tactile ie., they are smooth to touch whereas this one is highly textured and offers that brilliant tactile feeling (Mine is still in its sealed sleeve , but I did have an opportunity to feel another sample in the shop) . must have

 

#5 Paragon EF : Love the size, the smoothest EF nib that I have laid mi grubby mitts on, to date (although it writes like a Japanese Medium). 1.8ml piston fill ! This beats my fav platinum #3776 'M' hollow, in nib smoothness and has a nice spring to boot.... must have

 

#6 Milord Bordeaux - RT : The pics on the internet doesn't do justice to this colour, combined with the Ruthenium trim this is seriously an understated, potential no-nonsense work-horse EDC

Thanks for chiming in Katanankes, one of each is indeed a good idea. The Milord cc was/is even lower priced (if I decide to keep it, that is)

Yup, I'm leaning towards the stubs as well Jar, factory stubs are hard to come by and I could use them along with the other stubs from the house of waterman (Carene and Exception)

Thank you all, for letting me know what you think. A quick search on the net revealed what Katanankes stated, these were sold or are selling for twice as much . Ok , here is the deal then folks, I'd rather see one of us here at FPN enjoy these wonderful instruments than some random person. The Stubs stay with me (Thanks Jar) and the EF(thanks Da Vinci), the rest are up for grabs to people who have helped FPN community grow (anyone with more posts than me ) . PM me with a fair price -> all extra money (above what the pen costs) goes to charity

 

On another note, I'm unsure if I'll be slapped on the wrist by a mod for seemingly trying to sell pens for a profit, in the wrong forum ... if deemed so, request that this post be deleted. That is not the intension of course; apologise in advance

Now that I decided to keep the stubs, here is the fist picture of the lovely Omas Ebony with a stub nib. Note that there is a plastic sticker on the sterling silver nib section which I am yet to remove. Apologies for the low quality cell phone pic... enjoy
