What's your favourite looking Montblanc. It doesn't have to be one you own, but what Montblanc calls to you? Show us.

For me:

1. The Czar Nikolai (on the look out for one)

2. 146 Sterling Pinstripe (got this one last year)

I would say the Moon Pearl. Very elegant and refined. It makes me think fo a 1930's style I like a lot.

Very nice selection of yours as well.

I want to play! The Montblanc forum has been dead-boring lately :)

I agree the Tsar Nikolai is gorgeous! I occasionally think about it.

Okay. The best looking pen I own I believe would be this. I saw it in the Bond Street boutique in 2012 and kept frequenting the shop until I got it a month later.

The best looking pen I am on the lookout for and hope to get is this:

And for later this year, I believe this is going to be a gorgeous addition as well ;)

Pravda., what model is the pen in your first photo - it is exquisitely decorated.

I really like the Poe WE, but I think the one I like best is the Quing Dynasty pen with the jade cap. Or may be one of the skeletons.. Errrrrm :/

I am a humble woman, I like the regular old 146 with gold trim.

I think Ingrid Bergman attracts quite a few stares. Even a senior partner in my firm noted it. (PS - He otherwise never speaks to staff at my level)

I like this one as well. My boutique showed it to me yesterday. It will be released later this year. Can't wait!

The Leonardo is my favorite at the moment. My favorites change all the time. It's the best part about this pen addiction. 😎

Franz Kafka is enough for me :)

I like a lot of Montblanc pens, but I fancy them too little to justify the price. I hope I will be able to afford one of them in the future.

What a wonderful thread.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
