I've received samples of three of them so you can expect to see almost full line in coming days.

  1. Amanita Muscaria
  2. Entoloma Virescens
  3. Mycena Pura
  4. Stropharia Aeruginosa
  5. Trametes Versicolor

Mycena Pura, commonly known as the lilac bonnet, is a species of mushroom in the family Mycenaceae. First called Agaricus prunus in 1794 by Christian Hendrik Persoon, it was assigned its current name in 1871 by German Paul Kummer.

Sailor interprets this color as dirty pink. I'm not pink ink fan although this one is tolerable - it's subtle and, probably, to light to use for writing.

Thanks for your review. Yours looks somewhat lighter than mine. I find it perfectly legible for regular use, altho' admittedly best used on rag finish or cotton papers, when the brown undertone comes through. I like the quirkiness of this one.

It's a shame these pics look so pale as the ink is actually very distinctive. Which makes a nice change from the bog standard pinks in most ranges. The colour values are nothing like PdL, even if diluted.

I remember Amber posting an image of this ink. It doesn't look as washed out as in Vis' sample. It still is not a colour I'd like, but I admit the part where it shades (the mushroom doodle) looks rather interesting.

Thank you. I prefer Montblanc Pink ink. :)

IIRC that was on Tomoegawa paper. As I said above, rag finish & cotton papers really suit this ink & bring out the complex brown tones. It's in the same vein as KWZI Brown Pink, just a paler version. Much more interesting, (as is Mother Pink), than rather boring monotone pinks so prevalent in other brands. But, admittedly, it's not an ink for those with conventional tastes.

I like the look of it too. So sad I wasn't able to get a bottle.

I'll trade you one... if you can ship ink .. that is...

that scan of Amber's is NOT what my bottle of this mushroom pink looks like. I am not a fan of it at all. I ended up selling most of it in sample vials at various pen shows. I might have some left to take to DC, but I'll have to check. Generally, the green undertones really gave the pink an icky hue. Personally, I prefer mother pink as well, and even then, I don't adore mother pink!

Green? Mine's definitely not that :-)

I've just given mine away. It's boring.

In mine, the green that comes out in the chromatics test really gives a tint to the ink I don't love.

Yes I see what you mean. The green clearly shows up in Vis's drops of ink on the kitchen towel. That's a weird colour to put with purply pink. :o

In your scan I prefer BB Sweet Love Pink over all of the others. However, I'm perfectly happy to stick with my bottles of Montblanc Pink and Caran d'Ache Sunset.

That's a really weird color. Can't decide if I like it or not. But if anyone was looking for a dusty rose ink, I'd probably point them to it.

Thanks for the review. This one is a maybe ink for me.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
