What would be the best place to order one from? It isn't listed on Goulet so I'm assuming I'll have to order it from somewhere else.

Pen Chalet has it available for pre-order, as do Fritz Schimpf and Iguana Sell (Spain). No affiliation, just a happy customer of all three. Look In The Mall subforum for links.

Fritz Schimpf's site is indeed in German but they are easy to deal with, even for us non-German speaking types. Just email your request to service@fritz-schimpf.de. I have bought multiple pens this way without issue and the team over there has a very good command of English. They accept PayPal. Just be aware, shipping to the US will add about 20 euros to the price.

Was in Rome last week and decided to do a "pilgrimage" tp Novelli's and got a m205 Aquamarine demonstrator with a double broad nib. Dereck from Novelli took great care of us and then we went next door to Peroni's for lunch and some birras.

Apologies if I'm wrong (my monitor maybe way off & showing the colour inaccurately) but that looks like the Blue demonstrator to me, not the forthcoming Aquamarine. When we phoned Marco at Novelli last week he said he wasn't expecting his stocks of Aquamarine M205s until after his August close down period starts.

Hello, I believe that you are right. When I bought the pen I was not aware of either the blue or aquamarine demonstrator and later back home I assumed that it was the aquamarine. It is definatedly not aquamarine!

  • 2 weeks later...

Any idea when these will be hitting retailers shelves? All I've heard was, sometime in August.

I've sold off a few of the vintage pens I've been collecting and restoring over the last couple years, and I think I'd like to pick one of these up with the $$ I made.

End of August/Beginning of September is what I've heard quoted.

I think the best thing to do is buy the Pelikan Aquamarine with a gold M405 Nib ( silver color) and enjoy. :P :P :P

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
