Yes, I think you did very well. Just one of those pens are probably worth $50. Those Royal Challengers are sought after, and if you can find nibs for them (and a clip for the brown one) you will have nice pens.

Thanks. On the 11th of this month I seen a set at a local auction that sold for $175. I do have a red one that I bought on the bay for $25 without a section and nib and I did have some parts to make it whole again. I did post that pen awhile back [ forgotten the title ], I'll see what I end up with when I restore them.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
