Parker Refill

Pardon me for not sticking to the main discussions as my question has to do with a Parker ballpen not a fountainpen.

Some years back I was given a very small parker ballpen (see pic), measuring 10cm only. It has a refill (see pic too) some 8cm in length and it is extremely thin. Now I need to buy some refills but I have not found this type anywhere, and this type does not even feature in the official parker website. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me 1) identify the pen 2) identify the type of refill this is and possible 3) advise me where to buy it from. I do not live in the USA or mainland Europe so I would need to order online.

Thanks for your help.post-41845-0-56786300-1466605314_thumb.jpg

ps there is nothing written on the refill except Parker medium black.

The image is difficult to see clearly due to the flash rebound but it looks like the refill is tiny, much smaller that the standard Parker refill. It looks more like the Faber Castell refill which is 67mm.

Have a look at the Cult pens site,

or the refill finder site

Bingo! Thanks for the refill finder site. There is actually PARKER written on the tiny refill but judging from the strange measurement - which actually is 6.6cm - it must be the Mini D-1 refill you quoted from cultpens.com

I'm very grateful for this Kenlowe.

thanks!

You are welcome, Cult Pens are usually very helpful but if they have any issue on posting to Malta please let me know.

I think it's a mini version of the Sonnet ball point. Came out I think in 08 however didn't gain much popularity so was discontinued

Thanks guys. Yes it is the Sonnet and got to know from cultpens that it was discontinued. But the D1 should do for the sonnet (I'm hoping) no matter which brand.

Hi, Your refill does look to be a D1 type, they are used often in diary or planner pens as they are shorter, and fit in a pen loop too.

They are the type used by Filofax in their planner pens, and by Cross in various multi-pens including the 'Tech 2/3/3+' range.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
