My Visconti HS London Fog matches quite handsomely with Akkerman #10, if I do say so myself.

I've got my Steel Ages inked up with Edelstein Topaz, a combination I've used steadily for the past two months. I love the bright blue contrast with the lava.

Blue Rembrandt with 1.1mm stub and J. Herbin 1679 Rouge Hematite. I should use this pen more often, I'd forgotten how wonderful it is.

I have not had a Visconti in the rotation ina while so I pulled this one one. It is a Rebecca Moss model. i can't recall the name now. It is a bright orange resin with the old clipand silver cap nands. It has (I think) the older power filler that does not have second chamber. It does not have an ink window anyway. It is thinner than i usually use, but has a good weight due to the filling mechanism.

Ink is the newish Franklin Chrsitoph Urushi Red.

Very nice orangey red color! I just caught the Voyager bug too. I finally picked up my first (or I should say my sister gave me the one I was dreaming of as a gift after I completed my general exam in December.) I've been using it with the original (non shimmer version) of the Herbin 1670 Bleu Océan and I am completely in love with the celluloid and the old 18k nib!

Beautiful. That's a pretty nice gift!

Part of me wishes these pens had ink windows, but then every Visconti I had with one seems to stain. Maybe they are just fine as is. :)

The Visconti I am using today is Blue

in an Aurora 88.

Oh well.

:lticaptd:

I'm using Black...in a Bronze Age. :P

You've inspired me to ink up one of my 88's though.

She spoiled me! Somehow most of my favorite pens don't have an ink window, and after ending up at a conference without a drop of ink, I now make sure to keep one with a window on me at all times!

My biggest issue with this pen is the really tight rod. I emailed Coles more than a week and a half ago to see if I should send it in but still no response :/

I got a Brunelleschi in the mail today with a B nib (my first). Unsurprisingly, all the problems typically associated with B Visconti nibs were present in this pen--hard starts, skipping, etc. Very frustrating but I planned to have it ground to a Naginata-Togi by Masuyama when I made the order so I'm not overly upset. Overall I still like the pen and can't wait to get it back and actually usable.

So I may have been bitten by the Voyager Anniversary bug... :headsmack: These pens are so beautiful in person and feel so nice in hand that I cannot recommend them enough. I decided that the Lapis needed a little friend and picked up the demo version to make him happy :P

Nice. You sporting a 14K on that one? I like the 14K much better than the Palladium nibs.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
