Can Anyone Help Me Identify This Mystery Pen

Heyo. First of I'm new here, so hello!

I received this fountain pen from a professor.

Have you seen one like this before?

It only has two markings, even when disassembled.

It says "Pielle" on the cap, and in very tiny letters on the top of the cap "Germany"

That's it.

I've done a lot of google searching with different combinations of words and I can find nothing in the fountain pen world regarding "Pielle". It seems like it could be a vintage pen. It's made of solid metal, no plastic apart from the feed, solid gold in color.

I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks:)13410734_10154040746981620_410015834_o.j13446012_10154040746626620_374642806_o.jGermany.jpg

No clue but the black pen is a Parker 45.

Welcome to FPN, Baldrick! You have a very kind and generous professor. Unfortunately, I cannot help out with the ID of your pen. Perhaps you could ask your professor. I'm sure he/she would enjoy sharing the story of the pen with you.

Regards,

Soki

That name does not show up in our list of known pen brands but the list is certainly not all inclusive or complete.

Pielle apparently makes (or perhaps made) handbags and such. It's possible the pen was part of an accessory kit, made by another company for Pielle.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the replies.

Yes, the other pen is a Parker 45, GT I believe. And I love it

The pen in question however seems to be very illusive. I've found it on none of the fountain pen manufacturers lists either.

Google did find some odd hits on a few japanese websites, which had other items listed but not pens. Leads me to believe that you are on to something Snowbear.

I've graduated since receiving the pen but I know the professor is still on the local campus. I may have to pop by and see if he knows anything about the pen.

It's good quality and I quite like it. I just find it so intriguing that no one knows anything about it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
