I really like these new Jotters, especially the Oxford pinstripe version. At the moment it seems they are not available for sale in the U.S., hopefully that will change.

Hi 'The blue knight', I've seen a couple of the colours in my local Tesco (UK supermarket chain) where this week I saw the violet colour barrel Jotter in stock @ £9. Last week they had the blue barrel version. They also have the all S.S. with gold trim, but at a higher price.

They also have the refills in the new grey packaging, same price as before.

Sad news if this ugly pen replaced the older Jotter

Damn shame Sheaffer guys keep the Sentinel price at 20 euro. It would be the right time to take Jotter's spot

I bought one of the all metal Jotters at Staples about a month ago...for the sake of nostalgia. I hadn't owned one in over 30 years.

The new pen feels pretty cheap and flimsy in comparison to my recollection of how they used to work and feel.back in the '70's, I guess nothing lasts forever.

I saw the new all-stainless with revised clip fletching this week, in the supermarket. In the flesh, I don't hate the new clip, but it's not an improvement in my eyes.

I've looked out for these over the last few weeks, bought one (at the start of this thread), and I think it is a 'change', not better nor worse.

Recently, I've seen new style clips in old style packaging, and the old style Jotter FP in the 'new' grey boxes, but over time the 'old' style clips will no doubt disappear.

My guess is the plastic barrel will continue to be made, for the 'promo' market, as the new cap/clicker top fits it just the same, then at some point in the future, the new plated cap/clicker will appear for the premium versions of 'Jotter'.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
