Deltapen.it Web Site "temporarily Suspended"

I just attempted to log onto the Deltapen.it web site looking for information about their stantuffo piston mechanism. A home page comes up, but if anything on it is clicked, a message appears saying that the site is "temporarily suspended." Anyone know anything about this?

The reason I was looking is that I just received my first pen of this type. The piston mechanism is a bit different from the usual, and I want to be sure I'm operating it properly.

I hope it's not an ominous sign. I had a conversation with a well-known pen seller, a few months back, before OMAS folded, and he suggested that at least two other Italian pen manufacturers were in deep financial trouble, as well as Omas. Delta was one that he mentioned as struggling. There have been deep discounts on Delta pens recently. Not sure if that's relevant.

Or maybe, hopefully, the website issue is just a technical hitch.........?

It's up now. I have to say though, that the downfall of this company, if it fails, is their ridiculous fusion nib. Not even the nib itself, but the companies attempts to justify the decision to no longer use gold nibs, and try to pass off the whole alchemy/fusion thing instead of just offering both gold and steel nibs.

No, the site is not up, except for the home page. As for the fusion nib, the rationale behind it was disingenuous, but the quality of the nibs is undeniable, especially the stubs.

The site outside of the home page was down earlier this week when I tried to check it. Not a new problem.

the only links on the main page that work go to the "new arrivals" on shop.deltapens.com

all else is "suspended"

The "suspended" pages link to delta-pen.it which is owned by Delta. The domain registration is valid until August, 2016 so that is not the problem.

It would be sad if the rumors that have been circulating for a while are true. It was the Dolce Vita's signature orange and black design that originally attracted my interest in Italian pens.

Would have been better for Delta to put a notice up on it's current/old website advising people about the move to a new site instead of giving reasons for customers to be cautious about giving them their custom.

Looks like martemodena to me. When you go through to the product info its a similar layout

Current PensMontblanc 161, 162, 146 Solitaire Silver Barley BB, 146P EF, 149 OBB, Generation BP, Solitaire Steel Doue BP Waterman Edson M, Omas 360 L.E Vintage 2013 B, Omas Paragon HT B, Platinum President B, Pilot Custom 74 B, Sailor King Profit Ebonite B

The new site does indeed link the Marte Modena right away where the message is presented that these are not "B-products". I'm not sure how anybody who actually handled them could think they are anything less than "the originals".

Websites are sometimes unreachable. People should not panic if they can't get to one over a day or so.

Based on a recent article on peneconomics, as well as some links not working on the current site, I would think this is ominous news.

What exactly is the ominous news? And which non-working links bother you? (We need not get into unsupported claims and hypotheses in other blogs.)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China. With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters. Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed. And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments.. I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
