Very nice! :) Which pen did you get first if I may ask?

Really like the red eyes they go very well with the green

I would much rather have an Agatha Christie than a Rouge et Noir. Sadly, one has eluded me so far. :(

I dare say I love them both equally. The fluidity of the R/N nib and vintage design makes it remarkable to behold and use in person.

I've acquired Christie first in 2005 (if not mistaken).

Ah! I got mine only 2 weeks ago inspired by the R/N and I must say I regret not going for it back in 2000 when I once had an opportunity. Marvelous pen

This one is the A.C. with a broad nib.

The second image is a little bit faky, since I changed the snake eyes from red to green....

I have one, but it looks just like all of yours!

Now look at the section on the Agatha Christie, a marked improvement over the previous year's Hemingway straight section. That is what the Rouge et Noir needs to offer, instead of steel.

As usual, YMMV.

And here I am wondering why these photo threads aren't picking up steam :P

I don't know if I would've gone for some pens I have if it wasn't for FPNers posting various pics of the same pen, which eventually made me like it in a 'different light' so to speak.

I personally loathed the Hemingway until that recent thread. Now I quite fancy one :)

There is an Agatha with green stone eyes. It was a special edition MB created to be given to members of the press. I have only seen two for sale and not in person. I can't recall how many were made, but not a whole lot.

If you want less blah, blah, blah and more pictures, follow me on Instagram!

Nice! What do you have it inked with?

I am looking for something that's theme related. Like Mystery Black or Old Man Winter (Poirot) :)

I think that picture was taken with mystery black.

I also often use Hitchcock red. As we speak of theme it is al paired in colour as in genre!

My preferred supplier (no affiliation just a very happy customer):

Appelboom

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
