Has Anyone Seen This Pen Before?

I dug out this pen I bought from someone here on fpn, and since I cannot find any documentation about this pen, I am wondering if it's a fake Pelikan... Has any of you folks seen this pen before?

The pen only accepts standard international shorts if I remember correctly, any converters I own are too big to fit due to the barrel girth. The nib has Iridius Point Germany on it. Cap is very heavy, outweights the body by 3-4 times, doesn't post, no engravings on the top.

This is IMHO the most comprehensive Pelikan database available. You can also email Dominic the webmaster and author of the website. He will help you identify it.

Never seen that pen but I don´t collect cartridge fillers, so that is a big blind area for me. I must say it looks legit, but I have never seen a Pelikan with Iridium point engraved on the nib....

Best regards
Vasco

I have not seen that pen before but that does not mean it isn't genuine. The biggest thing that would concern me, at least about the nib, is the "Iridius Point Germany." That is not an inscription found on Pelikan's nibs, at least not the ones that I've encountered. My gut is that it may be a fake but I'm not very tuned into Pelikan's cartridge pens. I would suggest you look for a match on Dominic's site. It is about the most comprehensive resource out there. https://www.pelikan-collectibles.com/en/Pelikan/Models/Cartridge-filler/index.html

Looks a bit like the Pelikan P10 Goya. The cap is a little different though. These pens had nibs marked "Iridius Point Germany."

Apparently Dominic indicates some pens of the gallery collection did come with a similar nib engraving so it may be legitimate yet. Still can't place it after a look through Dominic's archives. I agree with contacting him directly.

Thanks guys, I did dig through Dominic's website twice before asking it here, simply because I cannot find the model at all.

I will contact him shortly to know the true nature of this pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
