Ever since I saw this thread, I have been thinking where i had seen that street car before.

Was rewatching 'Curious Case of Benjamin Button' last night and a similar street car appeared. Turns out, the story was based in New Orleans. :)

An awesome movie ! and the perfect setting for it

My 1 oz bottle of Streetcar Green came today and I am pleased. This is my third "green" ink, and I love them all!

Yes, YES! I really have fallen out of love with this P.P. Streetcar Green! What is wrong? Did I just get a bad bottle? It is EXTREMELY light --- almost hard to read. Am I just using the wrong pen? I can not remember having such a negative reaction to an ink! --- I wish I had a friend in my neighborhood that I could give my bottle to!

Sorry, sorry, but this ink does not even come close to "floating my boat." I know that some of you have had great experiences with this ink. I just wish I was one who loves it, as some of you seem to do! I hate to be negative, but just felt I had to "vent."

I tried and failed to get a bottle while I was in the US. It looked much darker to me than 'a light green that was too light to read', but as I've never actually seen any in real life, I can't confirm whether you got a bad bottle. I bet you could sell it in the Classifieds on here though. I would be interested and I suspect so would many others. :)

Charles !

i light of your comments I went and inked a pen this morning with the SCG ink, I didn't recall it to be light or hard to read, but I wanted to give an opinion using a freshly inked pen. what pen are you using ? I used an Aurora 88 Demo w/medium nib this morning.

see picture

Cheers

Oh my word, this is so classy !

Happy to pay postage or do a swap swap Charles Skinner . . . :)

PM me if interested.

I'd hate to see your bottle languish on a shelf or become part of a mix

Does anyone knows if Papier Plume will bring this ink out again?... As in making another batch?

I can't remember if this one is a Limited edition or not.

Claudia

It is a limited Edition , but they will bring a new batch out , I believe in a couple of months or so, my understanding is that they haven't yet secured all the supplies to make them again and takes them more time and effort to make the limited editions than it will take them to make their regular editions.

They do have some SGC in stock as of this note though :)

Well, I did change pens and the result is better, but not good. My ink does not look anything like the samples I have seen here. I do not have the ability to put pictures up on this site.

Before I give up on the ink, I will use it awhile longer, but as of now, I am still disappointed. Sorry!

Warming up a little to this ink after putting it in a very broad nib. Will put it in sunlight tomorrow and see how that goes.

Well, well! After putting P. P. Streetcar Green in a broader nib, it was somewhat better. And, AND today, ---- a few days later ---- I tired this pen and combination again. And what do you know? It now is great! I have never had an ink that I can remember that reacted that way, but whatever the reason, I love it now!

If you are happy; WE are happy!

There is nothing nicer than changing your mind about an ink you already own & deciding it is pleasing after repeated use. I don't give many of mine the second, or in your case the third chance.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
