Yes. I have one somewhere. Rolled gold cap. Made in England on the barrel. Made in USA on the filler. It must have been cheaper to ship them over the Atlantic. Aero pen, bloody red, "medium" nib (according to seller). Writes like a hemorrhage.

I have a made in England 51 the sac guard of wich is missing the black plastic end piece. My friend (an antique shop owner) in Karachi knew that I needed a replacement sac guard for that specific pen of mine. So he has sent me a made in USA complete sac guard unit. Now if I save myself of the trouble of removing the black plastic end piece from this made in USA sac guard and putting it on the sac guard of my English 51 and, instead, replace the whole sac guard on the pen, my English 51 would end up having a made in USA sac guard.

Yes, I have a Parker 51 MKIII with Made in England on the cap, nothing on the body and made in USA on the converter.

I bought it as Mint, Unused. It works well and looks unused. One of my favourite pens.

Yes parts can be replaced, especially aerometric converters.

Ditto here. I have at least one "Made in England" Parker 51 aerometric with a "USA" metal cover over the bladder.

All the local production cars here have engines made in Japan or Korea or Germany. Lol. And I don't know what origin engine they use in the JF-17 Thunder fighter plane made in Pakistan.

Russian Klimov RD - 93 in those delivered thus far, Mitto. Smoky as hell, like the old J 79! WS - 13 may be an option later on but I wouldn't hold your breath...

Perhaps Pakistan and Russia are the only countries in the world where they have no exhaust emission test.

The black plastic end piece pops off. It can be popped back in too. I have found several 51 aeros with the black plastic end piece missing. Sometimes I got a real junky 51 with a cracked barrel or some defects and borrowed the black plastic end piece for a better pen lacking one. Understandably, if you have a nice pen or a pen with sentimental value lacking the black plastic end piece to the filler sheath, you would want to make that pen complete, and it might be worth purchase of a filler sheath to achieve that.

I have done that with three of my 51s. And the replacement sheath along with the black plastic end piece came to me in all three cases as bonus to pen purchases.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
