Storage For Pen Cases And Other Accessories/paraphernalia?

I'm pretty new to the fountain pen thing, but have acquired a bunch of pens. For the pens themselves, I have them in a couple of travel cases, and a big folio for the ones I don't have inked up (though I have more inked than not). However, a bunch of my pens came with cases (like the pilot metropolitans, of which I now have 3), and some had cartridges that I replaced with converters, or squeeze converters I replaced with better converters. And instruction manuals and whatnot.

Does anyone have a cool/convenient way of storing all these items? Right now my instinct is to put them all in a box, but I have so many boxes of things, and one more box of things would just get lost. Something more permanent would be great.

I found a cased cabinet which has three rows of drawers, totaling 7, which is narrow & fits atop a bookcase. I like the convenience of drawers to keep pens & supplies @ the ready. I utilise another cabinet, which may have been designed as a lingerie chest, but is sturdy oak & has 8 stacked drawers. It is again fairly narrow in depth & has become a great organiser for nails, screws, glues, etc which were formerly lost in a larger space. I think you are right about boxes being "out of sight, out of mind" & I find the drawer concept avoids that for me. A standing case made for storage of silver flatware would work well if available.

I have a pen pox which gave me storage for 10 pen. Obviously I grow out it, currently carrying around 3 pen, which reside in a leather case, the rest of my cheaper pens are just lying front of the pen box. Planning to make some or buy some case for them. For the cartridges, converters I use a cosmetic bag.

I use the wooden pen box that came with my pens to hold my three Japanese pens. This sits on a table next to my bed. I've put the unused boxes in a closet. The freebies that come with the pens as well as my other paraphernalia (extra notebooks, ink) go in the bottom drawer of an armoire next to a little secretary where I have a pen cup for cheap pens and a lacquered box that holds my few vintage pens.

I think clearing out a drawer is the best way to store pen things.

I ended up picking up a cabinet thingy at Ikea today, since between me and my boyfriend, we were running out of space for our inks. Not as nice as some of the other things people have mentioned, but space right now is at a minimum, since I live in a tiny apartment. I may end up getting rid of the pen cases themselves, since I have better things to store my pens in. (And I watched a Q&A from Goulet Pens that was a couple of months old when Brian mentioned having 30 big bins of pen boxes, and I feel a lot better about the number of pen boxes and cases I have.)

For stuff like the boxes new pens came in, I put them in a empty shoe box I have set apart for the purpose and keep them in the back of the closet.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
