I have a vintage BCHR Conklin barrel in need of a cap. The barrel imprints give no indication of Conklin's obscure numerology. But the opening of the cap that's on it has an outer diameter of 15/32". I'm hoping that a cap from a #20 or the slimmer #25 Crescent Filler will fit. Would anyone with either of these pens – or its vest-sized counterpart (e.g. 25P) – mind sharing the measurement of your cap opening? Thanks!

Hello I a have in my parts bin a cap that measures 2.5 inches long and is 15/32" opening. It needs good cleaning and it appears to be turning brown, needs good cleaning and has a S engraved on the band. I can send it to you for your inspection.

That's mighty kind of you, spacecoastpenny. Happy to report that I was able to find a matching cap in a parts lot. The irony is that it came without a barrel, so I still don't know whether my pen shares the #20 or #25 girth. Haps I'll take some photos or, barring that, bring it to a pen show one of these days.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
