Parker vector rollerball. Good pen. I'm not enjoying the fine rollerball carts. I still prefer the medium

I carry a Retro 51 Tornado to work everyday in case someone has to borrow a pen. Today it's the Lincoln model. I love the look on people's faces when they first start writing with it.

Sometimes I'll pull out a notebook and write down total nonsense just because I love to feel a pen move across a page.

I just completed sealing the holes in the end of my J. Herbin barrel, and sanding and polishing it so it looks like it was meant to be like that, so now I have an eyedropper-fill demonstrator rollerball. :)

Graf von faber-castell Guilloche indigo, which I just got last week :) I'm having trouble posting photos but hopefully you know which one I'm talking about. Also using my GvFC grenadilla rollerball this week. They are the perfect thinness for me.

Pilot Metropolitan (0.7), the usual, and I'm also trying to work my way through a pack of BiC Gel-ocity (0.7) I picked up on a whim.

This is fast becoming my favorite part of the forum.

noticed that A LOT of folks are bidding on them. Are they becoming THAT popular?

All the folks at the Rollerball Pen Network (RPN) are voting on them. :lticaptd:

Seriously, I once replaced the ballpoint refill, in my Parker Jotter, with a gel refill. It's as close as

I got. That was twenty years ago.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm using my Montblanc Meisterstück Blue Hour LeGrand which I bought yesterday at FPH. It looks beautiful, feels nice and slides across the page. I got the broad refills because that's my preference.

The Parker gel refill is the greasiest thing out there, but just had my first explode on me...

A royal mess that leaked out all over my hand.

Oh well, in goes the next one.

Lamy Tipo in grey/black. It's nice to put in a front jeans pocket, since it's impossible to use the clip without retracting the tip. Also they're pretty cheap.

I love rollerballs, they're my favorite type of pen, so this thread is informative and fun. Sometimes I feel like an unwanted orphan here on the "Fountain Pen Network."

I'm using my new Montblanc Meisterstück Blue Hour LeGrand Pen which I bought last month at FPH. It's easy to write with and looks sooo glamorous. Its blue sparkles in the light and brightens my mood.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
