The nib and feed just push out backwards through the back of the section.

Hmm, has anyone tried this? I did and no luck at all. The nib and feed stayed firmly in place no matter how vigorously I pushed. Even trying to knock it (gently) out failed. I'd be keen on hearing further info if anyone has it.

I fully disassembled my Lamy 2000 except the Piston Mechanism what I can say is that you can push the nib from the rear and the nib will be removed then put it into a place where it will not be lost... speaking of which though I do not want to deal with my local Lamy distributor because I found out how inefficient they are is it possible to have the nib replaced for free or I really have to pay? I originally ordered an EF but the EF never came 1 year later... so I was kind of forced to get a fine nib and the nib costs half of the pen yeesh...

I'll not tell about my experience of the time with my Lamy 2000 I'll end up just flaming my local distributor for the best

Did you realize that you are attempting to revive a thread that has been lying dormant for close to 4 years?

It is unlikely that the original poster is still visiting this tread to find an answer to his 2007 question.

And here I am, five years later, still learning from this older thread. So glad these gems of wisdom remain available for future reference! :notworthy1:

Why are there fourteen samples of dark plum ink on my desk? Because I still haven't found the right shade.

Is that a problem...??? : : : sigh : : :

Update: Great. Finally found one I love (Lamy Dark Lilac) but I can't get more. Ah, life in my inky world....

I highly recommend contacting Lamy service directly. I did a couple days ago -- I have the same problem you do though I'm in Europe -- and they said they'd swap out the F nib and give me an EF, no problem, no charge! I have to pay the postage both ways, but there you go.

How much was postage? And that's really nice of them. Where and when did you get your 2000?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
