Just in case anyone is interested, New-ish pen store in Short North Arts District in Columbus, OH.

Robert Mason Co. Used to be on Gay Street 2 years ago, but store had a fire and they just now reopened.

They have a lot of good stuff, from paper to fountain pens and more. Even have some nice looking Bexley pens in there. Have my eye on the blue Poseidon!!

Address:
17 Brickel St, Columbus, OH 43215

Staff was really nice, they ink up a lot of pens and let you try them out.

Thanks.  Good to know.  I will keep this in mind for next fall when I go to Ohio Pen Show, if I don't get out to Columbus before then.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Glad to hear. His is very good news. The old store was nice, but crowded. The selection of paper was great, and the Fountain Pens and ink nice.

Thanks. I work about 10 minutes away and plan on "scooting" over there soon. Here's a link to their web site.

I was back in there last night, wanted to show the wife the place.  She really liked it.

While there, I was able to write with the Lamy Dialog 3 they had on display there.  Very neat concept.   I prefer the twist method to exposing the nib over the click of the Pilot Vanishing Point.

I'm finding that overall, I'm liking the regular nibs on the Lamy better than the equivalent Pilots.  So far, I do really like the Plumix stub nib on one of the Metropolitans I have.  I picked up a Lamy 1.1 nib for my clear Vista.  Curious to see how they compare to one another.

Great to hear! That's within walking distance of the convention center, my usual stomping grounds when in Columbus. ;)

Yes, it is.   For those interested, it is tucked back in between the buildings, so you'll need to go back in the alley a bit.  They usually have an A-frame sign pointing you in the right direction.

Thanks so much for posting this! Moving to Columbus in May and can't wait to check this out. Been out of the country for three years so I'm so glad to have a pen store so close. My wallet... not so happy, lol.

I'm relatively new to this who fountain pen thing and had no idea there was a pen show so close to where I'll be! So thrilled!

Yes, Robert Mason is back up and operating. And, he (it is a proprietership, not a large Company) has a large selection of bottled ink! The paper selection is quite good as well, including at least three different manufacturers of Fountain Pen friendly paper: Clairfontaine, Rhodia and Roaring Spring. And, as mentioned earlier he has a selection of Fountain Pens as well. Not a large selection, but an interesting one as it includes a variety of Lamy Pens and the locally made Bexley Pen offerings. And in regard t accessories, well if you need a case, satchel, wristwatch, etc., he has them. Excellent design and quality, but not cheap.

There is another one close to OSU Main Campus in Clintonville, OH.  He is an interesting guy Vintage Fountain Pen Sales and Repair.  He also has a lot of other "antique" stuff as well.   Just the store itself is an "experience".

That selection looks really great. I'll have to see when the next trip out to Columbus is, it's a few hours from hear so it doesn't happen often.

Just an update: The store closed in May 2017, due to a lack of financial backing.

More like poor management and location....but that is a "whatever" now.  It's gone.
